Soon, he was famous as the poet who chronicled the Klondike gold rush and the savage beauty of the frozen north. Author Biography

Born in England in 1874, Robert W. Service spent 1904-1912 in the Yukon Territory, first as a bank teller and eventually as a full-time writer. His wanderlust took him throughout the world, as a clerk, a cook, a farmer, a war correspondent, and more. He died on French Riviera in 1958
