Author Biography

Bert Randolph Sugar has established himself as one of the world’s foremost sports historians. He is the former editor in chief of The Ring and Fight Game magazines and the author of more than eighty books, with over a dozen books on baseball. Past titles include The Ultimate Book of Boxing Lists, Bert Sugar’s Baseball Hall of Fame: A Living History of America’s Greatest Game, and Fight or Die: The Vinny Paz Story. Sugar passed away in 2012.

Ken Samelson is an editor and author of several sports books. He is a former editor of the Macmillan Baseball Encyclopedia and co-author of Amazing Mets Trivia, The Great All-Time Baseball Record Book, The Miracle Has Landed, and The Macmillan Baseball Encyclopedia Quiz Book. Samelson lives in Larchmont, New York.

Stuart Shea is an editor and contributor to The Baseball Encyclopedia: The Complete and Definitive Record of Major League Baseball, The Emerald Guide to Baseball, Who’s Who in Baseball, and SABR’s Baseball Research Journal. He is the author of two books on Wrigley Field, Wrigley Field: The Long Life and Contentious Times of the Friendly Confines and Wrigley Field: An Unauthorized Biography. Shea lives in Chicago, Illinois.
